Wales face Italy in Rome this weekend – looking for their first win after a difficult start to the Guinness Six Nations Championship. The match at Stadio Olimpico will be important for both teams, as Italy will be aiming to win back-to-back matches against Wales for the first time in their history.

The 2025 Guinness Six Nations championship is well underway and after a whitewash defeat in Paris last week, Wales will be looking to avoid another loss. Warren Gatland’s men are striving to put behind them what happened against France and aim to record their first win of the tournament – and first in 13 matches – against Italy in Rome.

The 2025 Guinness Six Nations championship starts this weekend when Wales meet France in Paris on Friday night. Under the lights, Friday nights have become a regular fixture in the tournament and where better to kick things off than Paris.

Warren Abrahams has backed his Wales Women’s side to bounce back quickly when they face Ireland on Saturday in their next Six Nations assignment. A new era began for Wales as their first tournament campaign under new head coach Abrahams got underway last weekend. But Wales suffered a heavy 53-0 defeat against a strong French side in Vannes and while it may be exciting to see a new coaching set up, it may take a while to develop a winning mentality.

Chris Gunter is set to make history on Saturday night as he becomes the first male Welsh international to reach 100 caps for his country. Over 14 years since his debut, Gunter will captain Wales in a friendly against Mexico at the Cardiff City Stadium and join three Welsh women – Jess Fishlock, Sophie Ingle and Loren Dykes – in making the century mark. “It’s an achievement that I am proud of.  It means the world to me to be able to represent the country and do what I know so many people would love to do,” said the Charlton Athletic defender.

Liam Williams believes Wales are good enough to create history this evening. Gemma Grainger has been appointed manager of the Wales women’s team on a four-year contract. Grainger spent 11 years working with the England women’s age group set-up as head coach of teams from under-15 to under-23 level. She succeeds former manager Jayne Ludlow, who left the position in January after more than six years at the helm.
