Chepstow hosts its latest meeting on Friday evening – Ladies with a competitive seven-race offering for punters heading to the track.

Racing gets underway at 5.15 with a class four handicap before rounding off at 8.45 as nine runners take on the class six handicap to bring proceedings to a close.

The opener (5.15) sees six runners head to the start for the class four handicap over the seven furlong trip.

Sub Thirteen has won three of his last four starts, most recently in an 11-runner contest at Leicester last month and is taken to make it four wins from five here ahead of chief rival Miss Information for trainer Andrew Balding, fourth at Newmarket last time out to take a step in the right direction.

Race two on the card (5.50) is one for the youngsters as the two-year-old’s take centre stage in the maiden stakes over the sharp six furlong distance.

Invincible Crown was a very fine second at Windsor last time out and is the selection to go one better here for trainer Richard Hughes. Glitterati, for trainer Archie Watson, rates as the chief threat off the back of a second of 16 in a Nottingham maiden on his last spin.

Sovereign Slipper should be bang in there with a chance in race three on the card (6.25) as nine runners will take on the class six handicap over the five furlong sprint distance.

Henry Candy’s charge was fourth of ten in a Windsor contest last time out and appears to be coming to the boil at the right time heading to Chepstow.

Of his rivals, three-time course and distance winner Rhubarb is quickly turned out after racing at Ffos Las earlier this week and is the main danger after a creditable neck third last time out.

The fourth race of the evening (7.00) looks to be all about Kalama Sunrise, who has been a revelation since having cheekpieces fitted for racing and completed a fourth win in a row at Leicester last week and will take all the beating at Chepstow, while race five (7.35) can go the way of Monsieur Patat, a two-time winner this year who can defy a penalty here to go in again.

The penultimate race on the card (8.10) sees 12 runners head to post for the class six handicap over seven furlongs, with preference for Mullins Beach, a winner last time out at Ffos Las 16 days ago and a runner who has improved for each performance under trainer Rod Millman.

Finally, the card comes to a close with the class six handicap chase (8.45) for horses aged three and upwards.

The improving Walter Hartwright looks the one to beat here, having won with plenty in hand at Beverley on his last spin to make it two on the bounce and is taken to complete the hat trick on Friday ahead of main threat Lhebayeb, a winner on the Flat at the end of last season and third at Taunton on his return to action this season.
